Before You Board

Liability Waiver & Safety Acknowledgment

Every guest signs a short waiver before stepping aboard. Here's what it covers and how to take care of it ahead of time, so your group can get straight on the water.

Why we require a waiver

Boating is wonderfully relaxing and, like any activity on the water, it carries inherent risks. Before your cruise, every guest (or a parent or guardian for any minor) signs a liability waiver and safety acknowledgment. It protects you, your group, and Yachtsy, and it confirms everyone understands a few basic safety rules.

It takes about a minute. Everyone signs digitally before the cruise, so your group is ready to board the moment you arrive.

What you're acknowledging

By signing, each guest confirms that they:

  • Understand that boating involves inherent risks and choose to participate voluntarily.
  • Will follow all instructions from Yachtsy staff and any driver during the cruise.
  • Understand that children 13 and under must wear a life jacket at all times, as required by law.
  • Will not swim from the boat — swimming in the Inner Harbor is prohibited.
  • Agree to the no-smoking rule and to drinking responsibly aboard.
  • Accept responsibility for damage caused by misuse or unsafe behavior.

Guests under 18

Minors are welcome on every cruise. A parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver on behalf of any guest under 18, and a responsible adult must remain aboard for the duration of the trip.

How & when to sign

You'll receive a link to the full waiver with your booking confirmation. Everyone in your group signs it digitally before you arrive — the waiver is electronic only, so there's no paperwork to fill out and no in-person signing at the dock.

Please note: this page is a plain-language summary for your convenience. The waiver you sign electronically is the complete and binding document. Have a question first? Email info@bookyachtsy.com.
